The Outer Coastal Plain growers grow a wide range of grape varieties. There were over 50 varieties being grown commercially when surveyed in 2010, including both vinifera and hybrid grapes. The top five grape varieties grown in the OCP based on acreage are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Chambourcin. Collectively these top five varieties account for approximately 40% of the acreage.
