Growers Resources

Vineyard and Winery Management

The OCPVA, in conjunction with Rutgers New Jersey Center for Wine Research and Education and other organizations, helped develop extensive maps of New Jersey regarding characteristics of the State’s climate and soils which are important for grape growers. This link njvines.rutgers.edu provides access to interactive maps and an on-site selection tool page. Information there includes such factors as soil drainage, growing degree days, precipitation, solar radiation, growing season length, and several temperature related factors among other characteristics. This information can be of great assistance in grape variety selection and other decision making needs of both the new and established grape grower.
